Badminton club

The Badminton club is a social group that meets once a week to play doubles Badminton in the Church main hall.

The Club are a social bunch of mixed abilities, from the absolute beginner to moderately good. We play on a single court (full size) and as such always play Doubles. The play is also made more - "interesting" - by the low ceiling! We don't take playing too seriously, we are there just to have a good time - though we are very proud that one of our younger members has just gone on to take up Badminton more seriously.

The Badminton experience is as much a social experience as sporting. Whilst watching others play, between games (and sometimes during games!) players take the time to get to know each other share Christian fellowship Wetherby style.

Twice a year - at Christmas and in the summer - we meet to eat together and to have a good time. The photo at the bottom of the page is from the 2003 Badminton summer barbecue.

Do come and join us! We're a friendly bunch and anybody can come from beginners up.

The club meets between 7:30 to 9:30 on Monday nights from September to June in the church hall. Members can choose to pay weekly (£1.50 per week) or yearly (£30 per year). Kids (school age) and the unemployed are charged half price (We recommend that kids should be 12 years old or above).
