Women's Group

Began as Young Wives over 40 years ago. But young wives get older and in 1973 we became the Women's Group, open to anyone not just "wives" (men are not excluded but they rarely make an appearance!)

We are an Ecumenical group meeting alternate Tuesday evenings at 7.45pm from the middle of September to the end of May. We have a modest annual subscription and a small payment for tea/coffee each meeting to pay for speakers fees and use of the room.

We begin with a short act of Worship and have a varied selection of speakers, slide shows, members evenings and occasional outings. We have devotional evenings around Easter and Christmas.

During the Summer we meet for Coffee evenings once a month in each others homes to "keep in touch".

For the last 20+ years we have had various fund raising events, the annual giant book sale, concerts, Coffee Shop, demonstrations, tea dances and ho-downs and raised a total of £21,320 between 1983 and 2007 for various charities, some national, but mostly local.
